What are the Best and Worst things about your job?
Best
Manchester offers a high level of independence and responsibility right from the get go, which I'd wager may be even greater than that attained by our London colleagues.
Worst
The firm remains highly London-centric, so expect to travel down frequently or else risk being forgotten about. Although there are initiatives to better integrate the regions with London, it doesn't feel like that has happened yet, and the sense of drive which first followed the opening of the Manchester office definitely seems to have stagnated.

Starting salary: £17,000 - £19,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Be absolutely certain you want to do real estate law before applying to the Manchester office because that's currently all you can do but it's not well signposted.
Do you have any interview tips?
Be yourself, and be open. The partners who interviewed me were laid back and interested in a more informal chat. Don't neglect your market research though, every little helps.
