What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
It is very important to show that you don't just have an interest in technical law and its practice, but in business and more importantly, the businesses of our key clients and the sectors where we work. It is useful to think about what skills a trainee or qualified lawyer would use in their day to day work when completing the application. Finally, make sure to carefully proof-read the application - attention to detail is very important for a trainee and mistakes will be picked up!
Do you have any interview tips?
Think about why you have applied to this particular firm and what sets it apart in terms of the areas we work in, the opportunities for secondments, our international nature, working culture etc. Be fully prepared to answer about why you would like to work at this firm rather than others. Also think about the structure of a large City firm like Hogan Lovells and how different teams work together for a particular client or for a particular transaction.
