What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

The best thing about my job is that you get to work with a lot of amazing lawyers who have many years experience in what they do. You get to pick up on their hints and tips as you go along and choose which ways of doing things suit you. Then you start to become your own lawyer and have your own way of doing things, but you have had the opportunity to learn from the best.

Worst

The worst thing about my job is moving to a different department every few months. There is no way around it so you have to stick it out but it is actually quite unsettling. You begin to really get stuck into a certain type of work and build up your confidence, and by the end of the six months you feel better about yourself. Then you have to move and you are back to square one.

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Attention to detail. Know the company. Be yourself. Invest your time in hobbies and activities outside of law that help display your personality. It's not all about amazing grades!

Do you have any interview tips?

Take time to think about the question and don't rush/waffle/panic. Have a list of things in your head that you have done that may be relevant to classic interview questions and that way you can draw on those no matter what you have been asked (within reason).
