What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

The work I am doing is highly technical and I feel able to give my input and thoughts. I have plenty of opportunity to get involved with new client enquiries which exposes me to the varied work that our team does and has been a great learning experience.

Worst

I am in quite a small team, so during busy periods whilst we work remotely, I sometimes have to ask around the team for work to do as fee earners often need to get the work done quickly.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £37,000 - £39,000

Current salary: £37,000 - £39,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Get involved in plenty of extra-curricular activities and talk about them. Irwin Mitchell want to see well-rounded people and academics are not important at the application stage. Be succinct with your answers and don't waffle. The word limits are there to be used, but focus on quality over quantity. Ideally, quality and quantity.

If you aren't successful the first time, listen to the feedback and apply again. Tenacity is one of Irwin Mitchell's core values.

Do you have any interview tips?

Be confident, smile, be your best self. The interviewers aren't trying to trick you, and if they challenge you on an answer you have given, engage with them and defend your position appropriately. Speak up during the group exercises, but try not to dominate the conversation. Offer your thoughts and try to include those who haven't spoken as much as you.
