What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

I love my job. My colleagues are amazing - supportive, patient (I am only a few months into my training contract), understanding, friendly, interested in me as a person and not just an employee.

Work/life balance is very important to IM. I very rarely work excessively long hours & have been able to maintain a good home life alongside my work. I do not feel forced to work long hours and am encouraged to maintain my work/life balance by my supervisor and wider team.

Benefits- IM has a great benefits package & rewards package.

Opportunity for progression - IM have excellent reward schemes to notice the hard work their employees put in. Opportunities for promotions and career progression are vast if you work hard.

Stability - as above, if you work hard then IM offers great career stability.

Worst

Nothing so far. I like it all. Working from home is tough at times, but this is due to the pandemic and not a reflection on Irwin Mitchell as an employer.

Do you have any interview tips?

Show your personality. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Engage with other applicants and your interviewer/s. If you are not sure of an answer, do not panic. Do your best. Don't try and lie/make something up just to provide an answer.

Be friendly. Smile. Engage with the people around you, not just other applicants and interviewer/s - everyone you meet at the firm could be a future colleague. Show how you can interact confidently & respectfully with people - you will need this skill for clients too so best to show it off now.
