What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

As a manager I really like the people side of my role, in particular I enjoy motivating my team and making sure we are all achieving our objectives.

I also really enjoy the transport operation itself, primarily because every day is slightly different. New challenges, new problems, new issues to try and resolve.

Worst

I would say there can be times when work gets very busy, in particular when day drivers are finishing their runs and night drivers are going out. This can be a challenge to run shift, while also giving drivers the attention and proactive management they deserve.

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

I would first say relax and be yourself, it really isn't as daunting as you may at first think.

In terms of preparation, I would focus on the DHL strategies, 2020 and 2025, because you will be asked about these at some point in the application process. Here I would be thinking about how you view these and how you may have demonstrated these in the past.

I would also research the company and the customers we work with, this is a really interesting part of working for DHL and will also show your interest and passion for our business.
