What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
I would say APPLY NOW! The tunnelling sector is a major growth sector in engineering, the pay is above the general average for Civil Engineers and the projects are usually beneficial to society, for example the Thames Tideway project will help clean up the River Thames for people and fish alike!
There are many contractors working in the UK which are based abroad and there are good career prospects outside the UK as well as in.
Do you have any interview tips?
Be honest and happy, if you have questions ask and just in general try to show good communication skills. It is probably taken as a given that if you are in the interview then you have the required academic background so try to differentiate yourself by seeming as though you would be a good addition to a team or an office.
