Graduate programme highlights

We provide learning opportunities in our Exposure Management department, through structured on the job training, technical briefings, professional education courses and self-study. You will also receive our full support and guidance towards achieving your Level 4 Insurance Professional apprenticeship standard which incorporates the DipCII qualification. Our HR team will be with you at every step, and will help you set up a Personal and Professional Development Plan. You’ll get an in-house experienced buddy and mentor, to help show you the ropes

Our unique programme in more detail

Over 18 months of opportunities, practical knowledge and experience, that’s how you’ll be empowered to excel during our programme. And – you’re welcome to call it your programme. After all, it’ll be tailored to meet your needs, depending on what best helps you develop. You’ll be placed with the Exposure Management team, which helps the business measure and understand the accumulation of exposure, and what losses could occur as a result of catastrophic events. If you don’t fully understand this now, don’t worry. Our proven approach will give you an in-depth understanding of how we manage our catastrophe risks, as well as providing you with a good understanding of all areas of the company, including the classes of business that are underwritten. Don’t yet know anybody in the industry? You soon will, as we’ll give you lots of opportunities to develop a network of contacts within Chaucer and the market.

You have:

  • An unrestricted right to work in the UK
  • A minimum 2.2 degree in any discipline
  • 3 or more A-Levels or equivalent (A-C)
  • GCSE in Maths and English – grade 4 (C) or above
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
