What are the Best and Worst things about your job?
Best
The learning experience is just amazing. Within the first 6 months I've learnt how to solder, weld and wire an electrical system by hand. One of the things I've wanted to learn as well was CAD and how to use Solid Works so I can use it for my own reasons as well.
Worst
The travel to Kingston was a little long for me in the mornings because of traffic sometimes. Apart from the lockdown everything else seemed good to me.
What is the annual salary for this role?
Starting salary: £15,000 - £17,000
Current salary: £17,000 - £19,000
What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Try to stand out and make sure they know why you are applying. Show interest in the field of engineering or problem solving and make sure you show what experience you have. I had the minimum requirements to get into the application stage with my GCSE's but I believe my experience with computers, team management and customer service helped me a lot.
Do you have any interview tips?
Dress well, present yourself positive, friendly and try to relax. Talk about why you applied, ask questions about the roles of the job in each area and show interest in one so you can show you have a goal.
