What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

I like that my workload is varied and that I get to work on some of the most high profile railway engineering projects across the globe. I have been able to progress into managing my own project and growing into a role where I can be more client facing.

Worst

Sometimes the work is repetitive or monotonous which can be boring after numerous revisions, this is irregular and is normally broken down by other work and meetings.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £13,000 - £15,000

Current salary: £31,000 - £33,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

I would advise making sure you know what you're applying for and tailor your application/CV to the type of role that you are going for. You don't want your CV to read as if you're going for a role in a supermarket, if you are actually applying for a technical role. Also, try to understand the company policies and make sure that you show they reflect what you stand for/believe in.

Do you have any interview tips?

Make sure you know about the company, knowing the team that you're applying into. You can look at previous projects, current projects, knowing about the company policies and statuses (e.g. Mott MacDonald are the first company of their kind to be certified Net Zero)
