What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

The best things about my job are that it is very communication-based and therefore, every day is different. In addition, the variety of working in Lloyds as well as the Chaucer Office breaks up the day as you are constantly in a different environment. I really enjoy talking to the Brokers at the Box as well as listening in on conversations between the Underwriter and Broker.

Worst

The worst thing about my job is having to prioritise pieces of work and to maintain all pieces of work at the same time. This sometimes requires me to come in early or stay late to maintain my workload.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £17,000 - £19,000

Current salary: £17,000 - £19,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

The advice I would give to candidates is to come across enthusiastic about the role and have some basic background information on what Insurance is as well as the types of Insurance. This does not mean each candidate should have a wide range of knowledge in Insurance but just a rough idea of what Chaucer does.

Do you have any interview tips?

My advice for the Interview stage is to be prepared and have examples ready to use for each question that is asked to you. In my opinion, it is best to show evidence to back up what you are saying. For example, an example of you being organised could be an individual report you did and the deadlines you had to follow. The types of questions you could prepare for are;

- What types of Insurance are there?
- What do you know about Chaucer?
- What are some of your strengths?
- A weakness?
