What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Give all the information that you can think of. It can be tedious and take some time. However, you must consider the sheer amount of applicants and what might make you stand out. I benefited from having A-levels which wasn't a requirement. I also had experience within university for a year and full time work. As long as you show your willingness and attitude towards it then you will most definitely be noticed. Attitude is the most important behaviour to have. You can have all the knowledge in the world but if you don't have attitude how will that knowledge be of any use? I must admit I had no prior experience within project management nor the telecommunications industry. I really did think it would hinder me as I hadn't even done business at GCSE level. However, the structured learning and study time has benefited me massively. When doing the set work, I also find out about topics surrounding that area and words I may be unsure of. All I can suggest is to be positive and show a growth mindset. Experience isn't everything.
Do you have any interview tips?
I enjoyed the interview process. It was laid back and relaxed. I felt during the call it was a mix of interview style questions and just questions about myself. It was a nice balance of getting to know the interviewee and how they will fit the role.
Be confident is one of my tips. It easier for me to say as I am quite confident in myself. I do get nervous but once I have started talking I am relaxed. If the interviewer can see your confident, it shows them that you will fit in just fine once starting. It shows you won't be afraid to ask questions or ask for help. It's a great way to show you will be able to work independently when needed too.
