What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

- Ability to lead client calls and help clients with queries and problems they encounter (eg solving invoicing issues and being able to recoup the money back, rectifying the issue). Although time consuming, it provides a sense of self-satisfaction
- Networking due to the 5 networks set up at WTW, getting involved in charitable work which is something I enjoy
- Variety of activities and tasks that can be undertaken and special projects (eg, implementation of extra benefits like Meal Vouchers) or getting involved in other work streams such as M&A or sales
- Being exposed to a variety of projects makes the work diverse as different clients have different objectives and different types of contracting and processes in certain countries - makes you more knowledgeable, boosts expertise and improves time management
- International travel, meeting clients face-to-face to build a better relationship
- Strategic planning in order to meet client objectives for that year
- Working at a global level, you are able to learn the law in different countries and bridge cultural differences

Worst

- I would not categorise them as "worst" but slightly more challenging would be waiting to receive a response you need immediately from our local teams (in some countries, there may be a lack of resource and hence, a few people are trying to manage a lot of projects at the same time)

- Chasing clients to do the actions we have agreed as this can create delays and miss implementation dates of a particular benefit in a country, for example (of course depending on the client as some can be more involved than others). This can sometimes be frustrating because as much as we may want to, we are unable to move things forward.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £21,000 - £23,000

Current salary: £21,000 - £23,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

- Believe that you will get through
- Read the job specification and create your cover letter around the skills and knowledge needed - relating your current skills to what is required and how you would make a good fit for the position
- Take time completing the application and do not be superficial but also try to be realistic in relation to the skills you have

Do you have any interview tips?

- Be confident and make eye contact
- The interview/assessment centre was split into 3 (30 mins each) interviews and a group activity
- Do not treat the verbal interview as a "life and death situation", be relaxed and be yourself, but also listen to the questions carefully so your answers do not go off track
- During the interview, do not fidget and take a comfortable but presentable position to show you are approachable - you will need to put this attitude in practice when at a face-to-face meeting with a client
- Learn about what WTW do, although this is not a question in itself, showing you have read about and are interested in the company is an advantage, helping with the group exercise - you can think of volunteering initiatives/ideas that have not been executed by the company yet

Questions I was asked: "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"
Scenario questions eg. "If your manager comes to you and asks to take on some more work, considering you are already busy, what do you do?"
