What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

I have a very varied workload in Private Capital. It is rare that two days will consist of the same tasks. Both the contentious and non-contentious sides of the department can throw up some very interesting issues which I enjoy working on.

Further to this, I have a really friendly team who have made me feel very welcome since day one. The support that you will receive in your role as a Solicitor Apprentice at WBD is amazing and it makes work not only enjoyable, but a whole lot easier knowing that there is always a contact on hand to help.

Worst

It can sometimes be difficult to get the balance between work and study just right. Whilst study days are always protected time, working four days per week and fitting in the 20 hours of study can sometimes be a challenge.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £15,000 - £17,000

Current salary: £15,000 - £17,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Be yourself. There are grade requirements for entry to the scheme, so in many ways the recruitment process was far more about getting to know you as a person and how you would fit in with the business as opposed to assessing your academic prowess.

Do you have any interview tips?

The interview was focused on how you would fit into the firm, your interests and your passion for the role. I think that it is useful to understand the way in which the firm operates but at the same time, it is more of a test of personality and how you could work within the firm.
