What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Even though you are applying for a public sector role, make sure you research companies (i.e. company doing well/badly) as we look for broad sector understanding. Also look into the qualification you will be studying, public sector trainees study the Cipfa/ICAS qualification which is new and pretty innovative. Grant Thornton looks at the person as a whole rather than just at grades so try to put across the kind of person you are, your interests etc.
