What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Do some research about the UK water industry (including the AMP cycle and the framework agreements different water companies have with consultants such as Mott MacDonald) and the relevant legislation under which it operates (such as CDM 2015 and the water industry act 1991). Once you have researched these, show a basic knowledge of these in your application.
Do you have any interview tips?
Be prepared to demonstrate an understanding of sustainability and carbon issues, and be prepared to answer questions about how carbon emissions and water usage can be reduced in everyday engineering activities. Also if and when asked about your medium to long term career goals, be prepared to discuss the opportunities that the water industry has for young engineers.
