What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

- The variety - opportunity to undertake 3 placements and get involved in additional activities outside of the day job
- Regular training sessions (plus the option to undertake additional training courses outside of this if you write a good enough business case!)
- The head office (state of the art)
- Company phone
- The all round benefits package (including very generous salary)
- Work-life balance (however this very much depends on which team you will be working in)
- Many senior leaders are great advocates of the graduate scheme and will spend time to help you with your development
- The company invests a lot in graduates and they are placed in high regard- after the scheme has finished there will be opportunities to advance further

Worst

- No international travel opportunities as part of the scheme
- Office politics - exists everywhere to an extent, but in some teams it is rife (as per certain teams results in company engagement surveys)
- The café/restaurant at head office - expensive and overall poor quality
- The head office, as nice as it is, is unfortunately located in Coventry

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £25,000 - £27,000

Current salary: £29,000 - £31,000

What hours do you actually work, on average?

Start: 08:30

Finish: 17:00

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

- Do your research on the company and the wider sector
- Practise some online assessment tests beforehand
- Apply as soon as the scheme is open as it may close early for applications once a certain amount has been filled

Do you have any interview tips?

- Strengths-based assessment (different from more traditional interview methods) so bear in mind previous work experience isn't everything - attend with full awareness of your capabilities!
- Don't try and be someone you're not. This will backfire!
- Assessment centre consisted of a group interview, individual interview, role play and a presentation
- Prepare for the presentation - it will pay off! There was the opportunity to bring in your own materials (non-electronic) so make the most of this (think posts, etc!)
