What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

Company allows a good life balance - leeway in working hours so you can manage appointments etc around. Have personally had to take compassionate leave, a simple process without any pushback, or anyone trying to push you back to work.

Worst

Company runs on a utilisation basis, time spent must be booked to a project (including most training, office meetings) without necessary tools to maximise this - no time banking, no booking downtime, which leads to some weeks where work needs to be stretched out to fill the time, others with (unpaid) overtime to meet deadlines with no recourse.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £25,000 - £27,000

Current salary: £29,000 - £31,000

What hours do you actually work, on average?

Start: 09:00

Finish: 17:30

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Show examples of experience and initiative - even if without engineering. You'll be expected to partially manage your own time/work, so showing you're capable of this prior would be a big advantage.

Do you have any interview tips?

Use "I", remove any ambiguity about your input into what you're describing. Sell yourself, but also ensure the interviewees are selling the company/ office too.
