What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
When doing the application I had to do a series of situational judgement tests. What I would say is to make sure you do as many practice ones on the internet as you can first, so you get a feel of what they are like, as they can be pretty tricky. Generally I would just say to use your common sense when answering them, there won't be an obvious right answer most of the time. So just pause and think through each of the options given, don't rush it.
Do you have any interview tips?
If you get to an assessment centre, you've done really well already - more than half of those that attended mine were offered a job at JLR. Throughout the day they are looking for how well you involve others in the team exercise, how driven you are and your knowledge of the company and industry. I tripped up a little in that regard, which frustrated me as I have always loved cars and driving, but luckily I did well in the other areas. Make sure you do some research on any challenges facing the company itself and the wider industry, as well as a little on the history of the company too. If you can show that you know the industry, and understand the heritage of the company and what it stands for, you can't go wrong.
