What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Know what the role involves and don't apply if you are not interested.
Research into the company and the particular office as a whole so you have a bigger picture of where you might fit in if you work here.
Have an understanding of how you might want to progress in the role e.g. specific areas you may want to specialise in.

Do you have any interview tips?

Prepare like you would an exam. Come equipped with information about the company (which shows your interest in the company and the role). Come with an idea of how the sector you are interviewing for is moving forward in the future e.g. for Highways I was aware of the commitment to upgrading to smart motorways and when asked the future of the sector, I could back this up with knowledge and figures.
Ensure you know what you studied at University and your best/worst parts of that.

Also ensure you focus on your life away from your studies e.g. work experience and societies as these are equally as important as your studies and technical knowledge.

Be yourself, an interview is mostly looking at how well and if you might fit in with the organisation and the team you are potentially working in.
