What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

The variety of projects that we work on and the variety of client facing/technical/project management work that we do.
From graduate level we are given a lot of responsibility which is great as we can manage our own work loads, time management is key!
The office we work in and our company as a whole is very sociable so if you are nervous about moving to a new place then you can at least get involved in office activities and it's very easy to meet new people. This really helps new employees settle in.
We get a decent benefits package with a good employer pension scheme and opportunity to buy/sell holidays and other perks.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £27,000 - £29,000

Current salary: £31,000 - £33,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Show lots of examples of team work as being able to work as part of a team is vital for the role.
If your degree isn't in fire engineering then make sure you can show that you have a high level of technical knowledge in your own subject and show evidence of problem solving.

Do you have any interview tips?

Be yourself and try and come into the interview feeling relaxed as that will be the best way to show your personality. We work with lots of different stakeholders and are often client facing so it's good to show that you would be comfortable speaking with new people.

If you are undertaking a masters thesis/final year project, make sure that you know it inside out and can talk enthusiastically about the work that you've done.
