What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

Projects tend to be large, local and interesting so you feel a huge sense of accomplishment when a project is completed. The career development and training offered is excellent and there is a lot of help for chartership applications. The day to day job is challenging and there is rarely a boring day.

Worst

Working in consulting there is sometimes a frustrating amount of time spent waiting for a project to begin due to bureaucracy.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £29,000 - £31,000

Current salary: £29,000 - £31,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Really make the most of any relevant experience especially internships or university projects that overlap with the specific projects you would expect to work on in the role. Make your skills and experience as obvious as possible in the application.

Do you have any interview tips?

Prepare for both technical and soft skills / experience questions as both will be asked, e.g. I was asked about the Bernoulli equation. Read around the subject matter for which you are interviewing - for example if you are interviewing for Rail make sure you are up to date on current rail projects and the industry in general.
