Starting salary: £23,000 - £25,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Apply for this role if you are studying for a masters in Chemical Engineering and enjoyed your design project and design modules. Emphasise interest in design project in your application.

Do you have any interview tips?

Full day assessment centre included:
-Group lego tower building exercise (involved working on a budget)
-Presentation on your role in your design project (try to make this relevant to company sectors)
-HR interview - in this you are mainly told about company benefits and are asked about location suitability and a couple of competency questions.
-Technical interview - revise basics of distillation, heat transfer and fluid flow. This interview also involves troubleshooting a PFD.
-University interview - mainly questions about modules at university and design project (emphasise how much you enjoyed design project here).
-Written exercise - Describe hazop, write a process description based on a given PFD and mark improvements on PFD. Calculate heat transfer area and pressure drop in pipe.
