What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

The best part about being a graduate at Countryside is probably the amount of responsibility you are given from the get-go. Your line managers will be very trusting with your workload. Within the first few weeks, you will be co-managing meetings, sites, running financial appraisals, talking to sub-contractors or potential new clients.

Worst

With responsibility comes expectation. The workload is a lot, and the turn over needs to be quick. It is easy to fall behind, but at Countryside so many of the line managers are ex-graduates from this scheme themselves and they completely understand the pressures of being a graduate. They understand that you want to impress and take on as much work as you can, but perhaps sometimes this won't materialise. All in all, just communicate with the people around you and you will be fine!

What is the annual salary for this role?

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Be truthful and be yourself. As part of the application, you may have to take part in an assessment day where members of the ExCo board and other directors will be present. You shouldn't see this as a day to compete with your peers for places, but as a day to show the staff at countryside your personality, who you are, the skills you have and the passion you have for property development.

Do you have any interview tips?

Make sure you are prepared. Dependent on who is interviewing you will depend on the type of interview you have. Some are very laid back and will consist of a chat about your education and hobby so the directors can get a real sense of your personality. Others will want to know you have a firm desire to work for the company and understand the role/ division you want to progress into.

Make sure you at least flick through the most recent financial statements to ensure you know how many homes CPPLC built in the last financial year, their place on the stock exchange, profit. They also love it if you have visited sites and understand the character of the company.
