What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Read up about transport schemes taking place in the UK such as HS2, Crossrail, Midland Metro. Be sure that you know what you want from the job and that it's for you. The role is fairly generic whatever company you are working for and it will general start of very technically. Most applicants are from a Scientific background.

Think about how you would be working alone for long periods of time with not much backup. Think about how you would be writing reports or doing something which you may not be so comfortable with.

Do you have any interview tips?

Show a bit of an interest in the company and where you want to be in a few years time. Be honest about what you want. What is the aspect of the company you are interested in?

Be confident about what you want and say it. If you have any aims then it is better to mention them instead of make some up. Try and speak about all the things you have done instead of just responding to conversations, you won't get a chance to say something after the interview is done.

Try and guage someones interest and talk more about the things that the interviewer(s) find interesting.
