What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

Problem solving, then coming up with the best argument for why your solution is the one to take forward to the client. Of course, if your idea isn't the best one, then you genuinely accept that, learn, and invest fully in the chosen solution because you're a team.
Seeing yourself as part of one major company is a thrill, you all working together to provide the best (technical & commercial) solution for the client. And to know that what the client is trying to achieve can have profound positive impacts of society.
The opportunity to work on exciting projects, and to be a valued member of the team is what anyone would want from a junior role.

Worst

I've worked at Mott MacDonald now for 2 years and I still feel like I'm in my 'honeymoon' period. I look forward to Monday morning!

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £23,000 - £25,000

Current salary: £29,000 - £31,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Show your qualifications clearly, align experience and aspirations to the commercial focus of consultancy, and don't try to get smart. Let your experience speak for itself. Try and pin point what your value is and sell that!

Do you have any interview tips?

This is your chance to show that you are personable. Remember that interviewers have asked you in because they think you have the right stuff on paper, and they are likely most interested to know if you would fit in with the team. Day to day this will involve the soft side of your character - who you are, what you enjoy, how you relate to people. Then, they may ask some probing questions to make sure you can take the pressure within a high profile consulting environment. Be prepared to show grit and focus.
