My commute is rather long, however, this is personal to me and many of my colleagues don't have the same issue.

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
The entire application and interview process is divided into different phases - the initial application; an online skills test; a preliminary interview with HR or the talent team; attending an assessment centre (not all roles require this); and the final interview. Regarding the online skills test, ensure you complete it in a quiet room with few distractions. Make sure you have reliable internet connection and remain calm throughout. Most of the questions are GCSE level. The preliminary interview is more akin to an informal chat - you may be asked about previous work experience and your education, along with routine questions such as address, how you would commute etc. Approach the interview with a calm and relaxed mindset - it isn't a stressful situation and the HR and talent team will make you feel at ease. Be confident and be yourself!
Do you have any interview tips?
The interview questions seemed to focus on transferable skills and previous experiences. Many of the questions asked you to provide an example of a situation where certain skills were used, such as teamwork, leading, etc. Or, an example of a situation where you needed qualities such as empathy. I found recalling previous work and volunteering experience very useful, and using an approach like S.T.A.R. to answer the question. In addition, many of the questions tie into Menzies' values and principles, so it is imperative that you understand these and can provide relevant examples for each. You won't be expected to know everything about the role you're applying to, but they may ask for your insight or what you understand the role or sector to entail. Most importantly - be yourself!
