What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
People buy from People.... be yourself. We only recruit people that we feel will fit within our business, and who our customers will like, ahead of even talking about machines and solutions! If you're yourself in the application and write a covering letter that shows your fun and competitive side, you've a higher chance of getting through. Typically this is shown through playing sport, or having hobbies that show a competitive side!
Do you have any interview tips?
As above - and some. If you make management laugh, share stories, and the interview lasts an hour, but feels like it was ten minutes... you're doing well. Don't pretend to know about sales if you don't - the business doesn't expect you to have any sales skills (although some experience is helpful). We are looking for great people - you will have all the training you need to learn to "sell". Other pointers - dress smart (that means a suit), shave (if you're a man - bristle is fashionable, but not smart!) and don't wear brown shoes!!!
