What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Look at the company website to find out some information about the trainee scheme and what the company is all about. Some of the trainee's also do vlogs about what they may get up to at work during the day, which can be really interesting to watch to learn about the scheme and a bit about construction.

Also the construction industry has so many different roles, so researching about the different jobs that you can get involved in can really help see what areas you may be interested in. It isn't all just about roles that you may typically associate with construction!

Do you have any interview tips?

Demonstrate you are willing to learn - the trainee scheme is all about learning your role, the industry and about how the company works. The scheme attracts a wide variety of people e.g. school leavers, graduates or people that may want a career change, so there is no typical 'Management Trainee' and you won't be expected to immediately know everything.

Most importantly be yourself as much as you can, even if you are slightly nervous and not sure of what to say. It's okay to take time to think about an answer to a question, rather than rush a response that you may not have given if you had taken a minute to think.
