What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
The process is an online application and logical/numerical reasoning tests (online), followed by an assessment centre at the Billingham site. The assessment centre is small compared to some companies (approximately 4 candidates per day) and consists of a tour, technical interview, management (competency based) interview and a BAI (behaviour analysis interview).
Do you have any interview tips?
The great thing is you are interviewed by engineers as well as HR – if you know your subject you stand a good chance.
Learn a little about the role and business you are applying to. Johnson Matthey (JM) is a technology company and hence has five main business divisions (at the moment!), if you are applying to the PEDP – focus your learning on the Process Technologies catalysts arm (the JM website is pretty good).
