What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
I came into Woodgroup PSN through the academy as a 33 year old mature trainee looking to re-train, I have not looked back since. Be specific in your application, don't leave things out that you may feel is not applicable. WG are looking for a very particular person. Concentrate on your strengths what ever they may be.
Do you have any interview tips?
On the day of Interview I ensured that I had a good rest the previous night (in the hotel provided), after a Q&A session from HR, Engineers and past Trainee's we were split into groups. We were given a set of hands on tasks to complete as a small team of about eight. THis was followed by a maths test and competency assessment (know your trig). Finally we were interviewed by HR and a Project leader.
My advice is relax, be yourself, if you think you have not done so well on one test then don't dwell on it, just apply yourself to the next. First and foremost do your research, WG has very strong ethics which are designed around strong Core Values, "Know These!"
