What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

The colleagues around me drive me to be better in general. Making mistakes is normal, but everyone encourages each other to improve. The support the team gave to me when first joining was immense, they walked me through every stage to ensure I understood what I was doing. They made me for comfortable asking questions and eased my transition into the working world.

Worst

The work is sometimes repetitive and inconsistent. Given the nature of personal tax, there are periods of high volume work, followed by periods of very low work. This is often frustrating as it feels as though my skills are utilised as much as they could be. This is no fault of the company, this is just a consequence of the personal tax industry.

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Make sure to research the company and role you are applying for carefully. As cliché as it sounds, showing a level of understanding for the role you are applying for is a mistake a lot of people seem to make when applying.

Do you have any interview tips?

Make sure to ask appropriate questions, the interview is as much about the employer figuring out why they should hire you as much as why the company is a good fit for you. Try to specify skills you have that will help you in developing the team.
