What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Know that you are applying to a company that is genuinly passionate about the core values. You need to know these inside out for the assessment day as you will have do demonstrate this at some point. We had to do a short presentation on them which was prepared on the day.

What I have learnt from speaking to different managers is that they want to see a great attitude such as can-do attitude and this is probably more important than your degree as we have people from all kinds of backgrounds in Project Controls. You need to be a great team player which also means questioning ideas sometimes and not just accepting them because the whole group agrees.

Do you have any interview tips?

Sounds cliche but be yourself and try to relax. In my interview they were really friendly and they do not grill you as you might think. Know the function your discipline provides within the company and the benefit to the company and customer.
