What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Understand the role you are applying for and ensure your application is tailored towards it. If you need to submit examples of work or a portfolio do not just send images, add an explanation of the project and the stages and process you went through. You need to show off your skills and capabilities. Do not just add in a random car sketch for the sake of it!
Do you have any interview tips?
I was asked questions about the automotive industry like 'where do you see the industry going in the next 5 years', and also company specific ones about what difficulties they might be facing in the future and why certain business decisions like where to open new offices might be made.
They are interested in your understanding of their core values and want to here about ways in which you have displayed these in previous jobs and at university etc.
Have a few questions to ask the interviewer at the end as well. Read all the information available on the careers website, in the news and revise your previous work so you have good examples of 'a time when you displayed leadership qualities' or 'a project you found difficult and what you learnt from it'.
