What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Check your spelling! Sounds silly but is all too frequent to come across misspelling in CVs etc. Also be sure not to stretch the truth too far as you may get asked about something you've written in the interview and could become a cropper.

During an assessment centre be sure to chat with other candidates and staff present in the room whilst waiting around etc. This shows you are approachable and easy to talk to/communicate with. Remember you will be working with some of the candidates during the group exercise so speaking with them beforehand will make this part of the process much easier.

In group exercises be careful not to talk over anyone or be negative. If you do not agree with someone's suggestion, try phrasing it differently than flat out saying no. Be inclusive; if you notice a member of the group is being left out or quiet, try and involve them by asking their opinion etc.

Do you have any interview tips?

Read through the hints and tips page and prepare examples for the core competencies listed. Where possible try and prepare several examples for each competency with some variance.

Also make sure to prepare several questions yourself. This shows you have an interest in learning more than what's available on the web to read and can provide another conversational point.

Speak clearly and concisely, take a breath if you can tell you are going to stumble on something you're about to say.
