What are the Best and Worst things about your job?
Interesting business as usual work.
Lots of room for own research and adhoc work (as long as it's beneficial to the company).
Plenty of room for cross-team collaboration.
Many projects that are extremely interesting.
As with all jobs, there are very dire days where the workload can get repetitive. However this is being addressed with previously mentioned adhoc work, as we are developing ways of automating the mundane parts of our day to day work.
What is the annual salary for this role?
Starting salary: £29,000 - £31,000
Current salary: £29,000 - £31,000
What hours do you actually work, on average?
What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Have a multifaceted skill-set not just in cyber-security, coding helps, as does knowledge of other topics as many things collide with cyber-security.
Do you have any interview tips?
If you don't know something, be honest, you're not expected to know everything. Also, don't be overly modest with your accomplishments and interests, you're trying to sell yourself. Mock interviews help if you're unsure about how awesome your projects might seem to others. It also helps to convey your passion for the subject.
I would also advise talking about your own personal interests as they are hiring you into a workplace with other people. After all, they are looking for a person that is going to work in a team, not a single-minded machine.
