What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

If you don't hear back at any stage as to whether or not you have been successful then chase them for a response! I did not hear for weeks after my telephone interview and presumed I had not been successful. It was only on a whim that I emailed and queried only to find out that I had been successful and it was an oversight that I hadn't been notified.

Do you have any interview tips?

Relax into the assessment day. It is a long day and if you are not being yourself it will become apparent. For merchandiser positions I had to do a numeric test based on trade data, a presentation about risks and opportunities which I was able to prepare in advance of the day, and had several group tasks. My advice for the group tasks would be that it is not always about getting your idea to win or be chosen. You need to demonstrate that what you are doing is in the best interests of the customer and that you can listen to and build on the ideas of your peers.
