We have designed this 18-month programme to help talented individuals get started in their careers, and it could see you grow in a number of key roles.

You will start the programme with a formal introduction to the various areas of the Bank and training sessions on essential skills. You’ll have a full induction to the Bank on joining, and will get the opportunity to find out more about the vast and varied array of work we undertake here every day.

Alongside this, you will be enrolled on a part-time Level 4 Apprenticeship. The Apprenticeship will provide you with the theoretical knowledge that will complement the skills and invaluable on-the-job learning that you will gain whilst working here.

Studying whilst working can sound challenging. As part of the programme, you will be given dedicated study leave and the support of your local Line Manager to ensure you have sufficient time and support to balance your studies with your work. The Bank also has a dedicated Future Talent Team who are there specifically to support you throughout your programme.

If you are interested in the Bank’s Level 4 Apprenticeship Development Programme, the next step is to choose between the following streams:

Level 4: Data Analyst 
If you have a passion for collecting, organising and studying data, this Apprenticeship could be for you. If successful, you could be allocated a role within one of the following areas: Notes, Data Analytics Transformation or Financial Stability Strategy & Risk.

Level 4: Business Solutions Expert
If you enjoy problem solving and business change, this Apprenticeship could be for you. If successful, you could be allocated a role within one of the following areas: Technology or Authorisations, RegTech & International Supervision.

Level 4: Professional Accounting (CIMA)
If you’re looking to build appropriate and valuable skills to operate as an accounting professional in the future, this Apprenticeship could be for you. If successful, you would be allocated a role within Finance & Performance.

Level 4: Associate Project Manager
If you have a passion for project management and delivery, this Apprenticeship could be for you. If successful, you would be allocated a role within Strategic Change & Operations.

Level 4: Investment Operations Specialist
If you want to gain a deep knowledge of securities settlements in a fast moving environment, this Apprenticeship could be for you. If successful you would be allocated a role within Central Banking Operations.

Level 4: Regulatory Compliance
If you’re interested in gaining experience in the regulatory and contractual compliance associated with note issuance, wholesale cash distribution and banknote key supplier governance, this Apprenticeship could be for you. If successful, you would be allocated a role within Notes.

Who are we looking for?

We want people who are eager to learn and serious about building a career at the heart of the UK economy. You will also need to know what we do, share our purpose, and be genuinely motivated to join the Bank of England.

To apply for the Level 4 Apprenticeship Development Programme you will need at least five GCSEs at C (4), including English and Maths. You’ll also need to have achieved or be predicted at least 72 UCAS points from up to three A Levels or equivalent.
