What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

For me, the best thing by far is helping clients (sometimes not just with the job at hand but going above and beyond) and seeing it actually help them. That is the most rewarding thing for me.
Lots of opportunity to improve technical knowledge quickly.
Sense of achievement every time a job is finished.

Worst

I don't mind this, but I can see the pressure (especially around financial year end and quarter ends) gets to some people and sometimes requires longer working hours (which will be paid as overtime or TOIL, so not bad in my opinion).

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £19,000 - £21,000

Current salary: £41,000 - £43,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

If you want to go into accountancy, but aren't too sure on what the different roles are, really take time to consider what each roll brings. For example, audit is very different to personal tax etc, both offering completely different ways of working yet both falling under the accountancy bracket!

Do you have any interview tips?

Be prepared for questions on the company, but don't answer like a robot, a lot of it is about personality, even when answering questions that might not be directly linked to you.
