What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

Learning new things each day off experienced engineers who have lots of knowledge to pass down.
No 2 days are the same and you are always kept busy with breakdowns and PPMs

Worst

I am not a massive fan of college but that is just personal preference, it is also quite far away so it can be a lot of travelling and time away from friends/family.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £15,000 - £17,000

Current salary: £17,000 - £19,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

- Write a cover letter explaining why you want to become an engineer, what you like about the company and any projects you have completed that relate to engineering.
- You will be asked to complete an online assessment

Do you have any interview tips?

Interview process consists of 2 separate interviews. The first interview is a group interview which consists of a team task (which team can build the highest freestanding tower out of newspaper), a presentation on the task and finishes with a 1 to 1 interview with one of the engineering managers. If you get invited back, the second interview is held on site, you will be shown around the factory before having an interview with 2/3 engineering managers.

Tips:
- When being shown around the factory make notes about the machinery and what interests you as they will ask about it in the interview.
- Be yourself in the group interview and speak up about your ideas and opinions, however don't be overpowering
Questions:
- "Tell me about a time something didn't go to plan and what you did to improve it?"
- "What is your greatest achievement?"
- "Why do you want this apprenticeship?"
- "What interests you in engineering?"
- "What do you know about Bakkavor?" - ensure you research the company as a whole and the site that you have applied for.
