Discover Bakkavor

We’re probably the biggest name you’ve never heard of. You’ve almost certainly eaten our food – you just didn’t realise it! As global leaders in the fresh prepared food industry with over 16,000 employees, we create innovative products, including meals, soups, dips, salads, desserts, pizzas and bread for the UK’s largest Supermarkets. We’re ambitious, full of ideas, and we’re keen to find more people who share our passion for quality food to join us. We’re looking for the next generation of talented individuals to join Bakkavor and drive our success.

As well as being the leading provider of fresh prepared food in the UK, we also have a growing international presence in the US and China. Our headquarters are in London, and we have 19 factories in the UK, 5 in the US and 9 in China.

If you share our passion for great food and our strong values, then this company is for you! We have a diverse range of career opportunities and programmes available for you to kick start your career and make a real impact in the food industry.  Visit our Jobs page today.

GRADUATE PROGRAMMES

Proud to build your future with the best

Want to join one of our graduate programmes? We’re looking for applicants with enthusiasm, talent, motivation, drive, and resilience who are keen to start a career in the food industry. With us, the pace is fast, energy levels are high and your potential career success is unlimited.

We’ll support you to become future leaders. We’ll give you real responsibility from day one, supporting you every step of the way.

Choose from seven core functional programmes – Whichever path you choose, our innovative programmes, underpinned by a comprehensive training plan, will give you vast exposure to all aspects of our business as you rotate through different roles, departments and locations, dealing with different products and customers.

Graduate Programmes start in September and involve a minimum of three 12-month placements across different locations so flexibility is a must. The exceptions to this are our Finance programme, which is three placements over three and a half years, and our Bo’ness HR programme, which is two placements over two years.

UNDERGRADUATE PLACEMENTS

Proud to offer you an insight to our industry

What better place for talented and motivated undergraduates to gain valuable experience of the food industry than the fast-paced and exciting world of Bakkavor? We recruit graduates and undergraduate placements as part of our talent pipeline to develop our future leaders and we’ll work with you to agree the career path that’s right for you. Because of the size and scope of our business we can offer an amazing range of career opportunities for candidates who want to kick start their career in the FMCG industry with us.

Join us on a 12-month paid, industry placement, starting in July, and discover where a career with us could lead.

Application Advice:

Research is key. You need to know the company and you need to know the industry. What big announcements have the company recently released? What are the biggest challenges within the industry? All of these questions you'll be expected to have a good level of understanding on.

Overall, you need to show that you're actually interested in the specific role, and it's not just another graduate role that you happened to stumble upon. If you have a passion for food that's a great start though.

Interview Advice:

The assessment day is very intense, but again preparation is key in terms of knowledge and physical rest for the big day.

The interview itself is more of a competency interview. The interviewers will link all the questions to Bakkavor's values and you'll be expected to talk about examples of how you show these values.

Make your examples varied. e.g previous work, school, university, hobbies, personal life etc.

Just remember even if you believe the interview didn't go well, it doesn't matter because there's so many other elements to the day including, English, Maths and Logic competencies tests, group discussions, and presentations.
