What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

Everyone is very friendly towards apprentices and are happy to pass on knowledge from their experience. The locations for jobs and the tasks themselves change almost every day so it never gets boring. The training is high quality. The job is more of a physical role and involves getting involved with your hands. All your kit is provided and the company doesn't expect you to pay for anything. The benefits are very good and the company really looks after its employees.

Worst

There's not much you can help with at the start as you need to have a lot of qualifications in order to be authorised to have a go at anything exciting. There is a lot of training to get through over the course of 3 years and there is a lot of staying in hotels away from home to complete external courses. Your job is also subject to the weather, so if you are needed when It is raining, you are still required to go outside and work.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £15,000 - £17,000

Current salary: £15,000 - £17,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Take the time to fill out the application properly and research the role as the job may not be for everyone. Make sure that you are able to travel to where it's necessary to do so. Be prepared to take tests and small assessments and when you do so, make sure it is in a quiet place as you will need to think about your answers.

Do you have any interview tips?

Turn up on time and dress appropriately. Be relaxed. Everyone who interviewed me was very professional and calm. They were friendly and at the end of the day only want you to present to them what you know and how you can make a great addition to the team.
