What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
It is not a surprise to people that salaries for a service company are a bit lower than the ones offered by an operator. However, the selection of the job that you want to apply should depend in what career path you want to have.
Joining an operator will allow you to earn more money but you will not become as technical in certain topics, you will be more involved with project management than engineering.
In a service company you will earn a little bit less however, you will have a lot more exposure to real engineering. This will give you a better understanding on how work is delivered and will help you develop a good engineering knowledge.
When you apply for a job have in mind the path that you would like to do and make sure that you show your personality and attitude when you complete your application form.
Do you have any interview tips?
Very simple, be as professional as you can be but don't be someone you are not. Unless you are an actor, interviewers will notice when you are someone that you are not.
