What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Be prepared to discuss new and emerging trends in UX at the moment. Also, have a clear and well-defined meaning of what UX is to you.
Do you have any interview tips?
Be confident and assured in your answers, which is obvious for any interview. But, if you don't know what you are on about, you've not really got a chance. Discuss UX and what designing for a user is all about. Also, if faced with a task such as I was, be inventive with it and think of a range of possible methods.
