Application Advice:
The application process is pretty simple, take care when doing the tasks in the online assessment and look into the camera when doing the webcam interview.
Interview Advice:
The interview process is pretty relaxed, especially on your face to face interviews. Dress code is smart casual (I wear jeans and a shirt to work), don't turn up in a suit - been hired twice and nobody who overdressed was hired. The interviews are pretty relaxed, make sure to be open and answer questions fully. In group interviews, you need to contribute, take responsibility for a task and try to make sure everyone's opinion is heard. Staying quiet and being overbearing are the worst things you can do.

Application Advice:
The most important thing is to be yourself and don't feel pressured to lie or embellish because you think that's what people want to hear. If you have to lie to get a job then is it really what you want to be doing? You are far more likely to get a job by showing the interviewer the real you and not some grandstanding fictional character.
Interview Advice:
The interview was only part of the assessment, which also included group and individual tasks which are designed to show how well you can work. The tasks vary every year, but will generally be based on applying your analysis and planning skills to a brief either giving an individual presentation or working as a group. As for the interview itself, I found knowledge of the company was very important, as there were several questions about my understanding of the company and the market, as well as questions about me.

Final part is a day long assessment centre full of team and individual challenges as well as interviews.

It's very informal in O2, so try and stay relaxed. The interview questions tend to be competency based (give me an example of a time when...) so have these prepped.
Build your competencies around digital skills - give examples of how you are comfortable with, and have an interest in, technology. Prepare yourself for questions around the most inspirational famous person to you, and also how you interact with technology/digital products on a regular basis.

Ensure that you understand the company culture first and foremost and take that into consideration when writing your application.
Also understand what the company does beyond its own industry - i.e. other programs and CSR protocols that the company run are fundamentals that an applicant should endeavour upon applying for any role within the company.
Interview Advice:
Be yourself!
There is no point on attempting to impress interviewers with barrels of knowledge reason being that main traits interviewers are seeking in candidates are predominately for the right personality traits to fit within the company.
In other words, if it's meant to be it will be.

Application Advice:
Be open and honest about why you want the role, Telefonica puts its people first, its not a typical corporation, we don't come in in suits and have strict times we have to work between. Its relaxed and makes it alot easier to work in for that reason.
Ask about the different roles and opportunities. Ask about the learning opportunities. Have complete understanding as to what it is we do and what we want to achieve as a company.
Interview Advice:
Know about the products and services we offer across all our directorates. We have business customers alongside your typical consumer - be aware of this.
Know why you want to work for a digital company, why you think you would fit in and what it is that makes Telefonica stick out from the crowd.
Teamwork and interaction is a huge part of the interview process, be able to lead but be able to follow too. Have fun, be confident to speak up. No idea is ever wrong. We like people to think outside the box all the time, it's how good ideas come about.

Be yourself when you apply - do not try to second guess what Telefonica want to hear. The hiring process is done around your personality fit to the company. It'll be obvious if you're not being yourself and as a result your application won't be successful.
Interview Advice:
Be ready to answer questions on how you interact with technology and also how other brands use technology to their advantage. Have examples ready to show how you've used technology either in an academic or professional capacity - these don't need to be ground-breaking, my examples were extremely basic.
Other grads will come down for Q&A - be sure to spend time with them. They're your best source of insight into life at O2. And being able to strike a rapport with them can also do your interview chances no harm - even though this part of the day is not monitored.

Retail Leadership Graduate, at TelefonicaRead the full review »
Application Advice:
The application process involves an online application, online competency tests, a recorded video interview, and an assessment centre.
Make sure you have prior experience in teamwork, leadership, analysis.
Experience in a role related to telecoms is useful but not essential.
A degree in a rigorous, analytical subject is desired, but it doesn't have to be a BSc. You're not expected to have lots of technical knowledge unless you're applying to the Networks part of the grad scheme (for which a higher level of technical experience/skills is desired). Service Management expects you to learn quickly and adapt, not necessarily arrive with considerable tech knowledge.
Interview Advice:
The video interview is recorded and one-way. You will not converse with a person, you will answer questions shown on screen and you will have a limited time to prepare answers and record them. Make sure your webcam and backdrop is appropriate and try to stay calm, maintain eye contact with the camera, and avoid speaking too quickly.
The Assessment Centre involves one-on-one interviews, group tasks, and general monitoring throughout the day. You will have a one-on-one interview, a personal business analysis exercise and interview, and monitored group tasks to complete.
Make sure you know your CV back to front and remember examples of times where you have solved problems, shown leadership, had to analyse a problem etc.
There's nothing unorthodox or anything designed to trip you up, they're genuinely interested in finding out whether you're right for Telefonica.
