What are the best and worst things about your company?
Having opportunities that are not available to "mainstream" civil servants. The variety of work undertaken. Not knowing where you will be in six months time, only having 8 weeks notice before the start of the next posting. It is not long enough if required to physically locate (particularly while also completing the End of Posting Review documentation and tying up the loose ends from your existing role).

The big pay increase at the end of the scheme. Not being able to choose what you work in despite having a strong interest in a specific topic so not really caring about what you do.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
The scope of experience you get in not only the different types of job roles, but also work environments, topics and areas, in addition to all the learning and training opportunities we get, and the numerous talks and events that are organised with leading members across all sectors of government. Not being able to control what location or in what job you will be placed.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
Good range of experience. Worthwhile work. Nice people. They are still working out how the revised scheme structure will work e.g. what happens in year 4 / when and how you can apply for jobs. Worse conditions than the scheme in the past (less pay/holiday than a few years ago), though this is understandable in the current climate Stigma of development scheme...

What are the best and worst things about your company?
Exposure to a range of government functions in the first two years, with great insight into the workings of the public sector and Government. The programme is poorly managed and very inflexible; it does not take account of personal attributes, interests, or career aspirations.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
I've had a range of really interesting roles on the fast stream across project management and policy. Loads of responsibility and opportunities working with Ministers. Not a flexible scheme, so if you've strong views about areas/departments you want to work in then it's not for you. No support for early promotion.
