What are the best and worst things about your company?
Great introduction to the railway industry; very flexible (albeit structured) placements; excellent network of current and past graduates creates great support.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
Variety - Union meetings, Investigation interviews, Assessment Centres, dealing with customers during disruption, cab rides - I've done it all in one week. Diversity of colleagues - people from all sorts of work & personal history, not just an office full of people with similar backgrounds, education and qualifications.Attitude of certain colleagues - the railway is not open to change and often seeks to put up (artificial) barriers to it as opposed to embracing it or even just taking a neutral, open-minded stance.

The variety of the teams and projects you can get experience of and getting responsibilities very early on in your career. Having to spend considerable amount of time away from home on placements.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
The best part of the railway industry from a young professional is its diversity. Colleagues are encouraged to complete various roles across different divisions and parts of the organisation. This means that you can consistently challenge yourself, taking on new and different tasks on a day to day basis. The worst part of the railway industry is the fact that the industry is some 20 - 30 years behind other industries development. A strong trade union environment coupled with old and complex processes represents challenges for any professional in this area. This can often be frustrating but this challenge represents a huge opportunity for any colleagues working in the industry. This industry is one of the few left where a person can leave a real impact and legacy upon it. If you believe you can change the future of this industry, get involved and help make it happen.
