What are the best and worst things about your company?
The freedom you get to develop your own training schedule. If a particular area of the business sparks your interest you can run with it and focus on that. The approach to graduates across the businesses and functions can at times be inconsistent. Some are eager to have you and know just how to utilise you whilst developing your skills, others see you as an office admin temp. However don't let this put you off, see it as character developing opportunities to push your own agenda and help management in understanding what it is you're after from your placement, how they can help develop you but also how you can be an asset to them. I'm sure throughout your future career situations like this will arise so it's handy to learn how best to manage them whilst on the scheme!

What are the best and worst things about your company?
Never boring if you manage your time properly. The learning curve is VERY steep, it will suck the soul out of you.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
The variety of situations and feeling that you have made a real difference to somebody's day.The Graduate scheme can lack structure and you end up working on what your Line Manager wants you to work on as opposed to working on as per the scheme.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
You are treated as a full member of the team from day one and given so many opportunities, from sitting in the driver's cab with the driver to exploring the depots where they do all the engineering work to trips to other TOCs and rail companies throughout the UK to see how they do things differently. The entire industry really does feel like one big family.Sometimes your workload is not balanced and so you may find the odd day or two where you feel you are just twiddling your thumbs, and then other days you feel all the commitments can be too much. Just try to keep the workload balanced between trips and days in the office and you'll be fine.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
Excellent opportunities to learn more and progress in the business. Large support network of ex-graduates. Benefits package. Work/life balance. The complexity of rail operations can become daunting at times, but there are many colleagues with enough experience to help you develop.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
- A way into the transport industry. - Training in different operational skills and areas. - Colleagues from diverse backgrounds all who have different skills. - A good overview of the company (although six months into my scheme I'm only just seeing this). - Sometimes you feel like you are no one's responsibility-often people are busy and you're left without things to do. - Lots of moving around means lots of first days and this can be fairly tiring. - Sometimes working odd hours can mean you have a week of not doing much apart from work and sleep.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
I have gained my PCV license and I have driven in service. This has given me a huge appreciation for the staff members I may manage in the future and the challenges our front line staff face.n/a
