Application Advice: Be yourself and be honest. Ensure you take credit where credit is due - say I!

Interview Advice: The self-video is a bizarre experience but try not to get in a flap over it. Just think about the questions before you answer them. I put a picture of a face behind my computer screen and pretended I was talking to them. At the assessment centre, speak up and get involved with all the activities. It's hard work and they put you in odd situations but try and keep your cool and it definitely pays off.

nuclear graduate, at nucleargraduates

Application Advice: Do it! This scheme can take you anywhere you want to go. If you're interested in the nuclear industry but don't know exactly why/ where to go/ what it is/ how it works this is the scheme for you. Go in with an open mind and take absolutely every opportunity you get. The best way into the scheme is to show that you are enthusiastic and interested in the industry

Interview Advice: The interview process is a 2-day crash course. It's hard work but good fun. My best bit of advice is be nice and be true to yourself, it's as much a chance for you to show them what you have as it is for nucleargrads to show you what they are.

British Sugar

Operations Chemist, Process Laboratory at British Sugar

Application Advice: Ensure applications are made specific to the company you are applying for. Having gone through applications in the past, it is very clear when people have sent a generic CV or application out. With the volume of applicants, this lack of attention to detail can make a clear distinction between some applicants. Be yourself, applications are a window that looks both ways. We require a certain standard of individual, but you should also be thinking about what we can provide for you.

Interview Advice: Interrogate the website, including the process and case studies, but practice simple arithmetic and other basic skills as these are just as important in the role you are applying for as advanced technical knowledge.
