Application Advice: Really research the company values and the ways in which it works. Have a look at what differentiates Capgemini from other consultancy/IT companies. Take a look at core values as they really are implemented throughout the company.

Interview Advice: Arrive on time, at this stage they already know you well enough so what is important is how well you communicate and work with people. The loudest person does not get the job, it's all about how you collaborate. Have your presentation ready, you will be given two weeks prior to have prepared for it. Also question us at the end, most the people in the room are not just recruiters they are consultants with experience.

Interview Advice: Be yourself - it is such a cliche statement but it is so important, this is the first time you will meet people from the business and you need to gauge if it is right for you, as well as the company assessing your strengths Prepare - come up with scenarios that you wish to speak about in your interview, and what questions these scenarios will apply to. This will help you stay on track in the interview and make you feel at ease as questions come your way

Application Advice: Read the questions provided carefully (if relevant) and begin by wireframing your answer rather than diving in - since there will probably be a word count it's important to lay out individual headings that address each part of each question, and then put the rest of the text in afterwards.

Interview Advice: Make sure you research on questions often asked at interviews and create a spreadsheet of "STAR" examples - situation unfolding, task required, action taken, result seen. Do your best to memorise this and you can easily answer questions such as "tell me about a time when you failed to meet expectations" or similar. Have similar examples for relevant hard and soft skills.

TPP

Software Developer, Software Development at TPP

Application Advice: In the past, I vetted applications for the software developer role, and it was always far nicer to see applications from people who had put effort into their CV and cover letter (although we've done away with cover letters since!). Put some effort into making your CV readable, and try to show off the things that make you a good candidate for our work. Also, don't be put off by the "aptitude test". It's basically a maths quiz, and if you've got the A* in Mathematics that we need, you'll enjoy working through the questions.

Interview Advice: Be authentic. It'll make your interview more enjoyable for both you and the interviewers! Get to grips with logic puzzles; we're after people who can quickly solve problems, often out of the blue. Your solutions don't necessarily need to be right first time, but you need to be comfortable working through them.

Application Advice: Personal projects (especially ones relating to skills asked for in the job description) are a great way to flesh out short CVs. They're not looking for everything on the list but you should at least know what everything means and have done research on it.

Interview Advice: It's an assessment day with a chance to ask both HR and someone in your field questions. There's a 1-2-1 interview and a team assessment as well. The hardest question I was asked was something like "Can you give me an example of a time when you've used enterprise data management tools?" or something similar. I didn't understand what it meant and the interviewer could only explain the question so much (for reference examples of databases, data visualisation or ETL tools were what he was looking for). Everyone is very nice, they'll give you time to think and don't pressure you.

Business Consultant, Consulting and Professional Services at Fujitsu

Application Advice: Pay attention to spelling and grammar. Use the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) methodology when answering video interview questions. Use recent experiences as examples where ever you can - even if they didn't happen in work, an account of how you dealt with a situation while travelling or in uni will be more effective than talking about being a prefect in junior school. Answer the question asked, not the one you wanted to hear or prepared for.

Interview Advice: Be prepared for some questions on current affairs - for example, in my 2017 interview I was asked how I thought Brexit might impact Fujitsu's business, as they'd just transitioned to a Europe-wide organisation rather than individual country organisations. Remember that 'winning' any group task is not the goal - what they're looking at is how you interact with other people. Shouting over anyone won't make a good impression. Prepare an interesting fact about yourself to share! Be yourself and relax - if you force a good fit, a few months down the line it might not work any more.

Level 4 Associate Project Manager, Cloud Enablement at Willis Towers Watson

Application Advice: I spent a long time out of work and know how hard and disheartening it can be constantly being knocked back by employers. Sometimes you may not have all the skills or experience asked, but still apply as you never know. A demonstrated passion to learn and grow is far more valuable than simply having a qualification on a piece of paper. Never underestimate your own value!

Interview Advice: Try and remain calm in the interview. Demonstrate your passion and knowledge and come prepared. I was convinced I wasn't going to get the job but thought the interview would be a good chance for me to get more experience and feedback. I think because of this my nerves subsided and I just got on with it. This is a great company and the people here are extremely friendly and will try and make you feel comfortable. My team threw the usual process out the window and covered all the same bases as the questions but in their own way that made it more like a conversation than a formal process. Degree Apprenticeship, Defence at Fujitsu

Application Advice: Answer all online questions and complete video questions honestly. I felt it was most important to express my passion for the subject, e.g. software development.

Interview Advice: Try and treat it like a balanced conversation with the interviewer. At the end of my interview I was given a word game to play, in which I had to guess what my interviewer was thinking by only asking questions he could answer yes or no to, up to 20 questions. I later found out that of those who had been through this game so far, no one had succeeded. I believe they are looking more at how you approach a problem rather than your actual answers, in which case I would advise just staying calm and approaching it slowly.
